ASTOR Blades is a medium-sized family business that was founded in 1994 and proudly celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024. During this time, we have established ourselves as specialists in high-quality machine knives for the food industry and are known for our precision and reliability.
Under the management of Michaela Marquardt, we focus on quality and innovation. With great commitment and passion, the managing director is the second generation to run the company and ensures that our values are put into practice: Trust, respect and the highest quality.

Our History
1994
Founding
ASTOR Blades was founded in 1994 by Bernd Marquardt and has since developed into a leading supplier of a wide range of blades for machines in the food industry. From the very beginning, we placed great emphasis on innovation, precision and the highest quality - principles that still form the foundation of our company today. Over the years, ASTOR Blades has grown steadily and built up a solid reputation as a reliable partner in the industry.
2012
New Management
In 2012, Michaela Marquardt succeeded her father as Managing Director. Embracing the challenges of this role, she introduced fresh perspectives by combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. Her commitment to maintaining close relationships with employees and partners, along with her unwavering focus on high-quality standards, has been instrumental in positioning ASTOR Blades successfully in an increasingly globalized market. Under her leadership, the company has not only expanded into new markets but also implemented sustainable processes to ensure long-term success.
2024
Today
In 2012, Michaela Marquardt took over the management of the company and succeeded her father. Despite the challenges associated with this responsibility, she brought a breath of fresh air to the company and focussed on a combination of proven craftsmanship and modern technology. Her decision to maintain close contact with employees and partners, as well as her continuous focus on high quality standards, contributed significantly to the successful positioning of ASTOR cutting tools in an increasingly globalised market. Under her leadership, not only have new markets been opened up, but sustainable processes have also been introduced to ensure the company's long-term success.
